Bienvenidos to café de olla!

I’m Maribel, mucho gusto. I’m a creative, writer, and occasional podcaster. Some of you may also know a different side to me. You might already know that I’m also part of a spiritually gifted family whose unique talents span generations. Originally hailing from the countryside of Mexico, my family is one steeped in a rich tradition of the healing faith and practice known as “curanderismo.” But our story doesn’t end there…

Join me here at cafe de olla as I dive into the story of our family stepping into the healing arts. My hope with this newsletter is to shed light on the dark shadows of the past as well as illuminate the path ahead for all who perhaps recognize themselves in our story.

I have a lot planned to share with you including:

  • interviews with gifted family members

  • historical information about conjuring and alternative medicine

  • resources and guidance to help your own journey

  • traditional Mexican recipes — because you can’t have culture without food!

I’m even hoping to turn this newsletter into a book eventually.

For now, subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and to never miss an update.

Just another aging millennial with way too much to say. I write. I podcast. I like to make stuff. Too many projects, too little time.
